More Krsna Conscious Song Lyrics

The Rasa Dance
BY PARIJATA (a recording made in the 80's. Still searching for the music online.)

In the forest of Vrndavana, a full moon rises above;
Krishna calls his cowherd girls on His flute with a song of love.
They've left their homes and families to answer Krishna's call,
Enchanted by his lotus eyes as He smiles upon them all.

He's called them for the rasa dance, each feels He's hers alone;
Surrendering her life to Him, pure love in her heart has grown.
Pure love in her heart has grown.

Arriving in the clearing as they hear His sweet flute song;
The gopis in anxiety pray that He won't be long.
The gopis gather around him as He dances in the night;
A peacock feather in His hair, He is their Lord, their life.

He's called them for the rasa dance, a breeze blows fragrance around,
The music of their ankle bells, a sweet enchanting sound.
A sweet enchanting sound.

The gopis just like shining jewels amidst the blue sapphire Of Govinda, His charming form increasing their desire. Gandharvas shower flowers from the reddish skies,
The all-attractive pastime like nectar to their eyes.

He's called them for the rasa dance, each feels He's hers alone;
Not knowing He will leave them soon to rule on a jeweled throne.
To rule on a jeweled throne.

He sends the gopis to their homes before the light of day; Although the dance is ending, in their hearts their Lord will stay.
Now Krishna is leaving them, with Balarama He has gone
To live a life of royalty as a prince in Dwaraka dham.

Each gopi remembers the rasa dance when she felt He was hers alone,
And how she surrendered her life to Him; now He's taken her love and gone.
Now He's taken her love and gone.
